A date ~1902 fits with a family picture mentioned in an undated letter below written by Mary Ellen (Kiehl) Curry.
Jacob and Catherine's 7th grandchild was born in 1903.

The Kiehl homestead near Irwin, PA was the scene of joy and gladness last week.  The house of Mr. Jacob L. Kiehl of No. Huntingdon Township, two miles west of irwin was the scene of a happy family reunion June 26th, being in honor of Mr. Kiehl's birthday.

Promptly at 9:30 o'clock the guests began to assemble with well-filled baskets. To say that the worthy gentleman and his wife were surprised is putting it very mildly.

Mr. & Mrs. Kiehl, the parents of nine children, all of whom with six grandchildren helped Grampa Kiehl to enjoy a happy birthday, long to be remembered by all.

Just as the whistles proclaimed the hour of noon, the guests assembled around a table which was arranged by the children out on a shady part of the lawn.

After dinner, games and vocal music was afforded the entertainment.  Mr Kiehl was the recipient of many valuable and useful presents.

At the close of the afternoon a photographer took a family picture.
